This Command may be used for listing the confidence regions for the adjustment files. Two sets of confidence regions are listed.

  1. The station confidence regions in relation to the adjustment origin.
  2. The relative confidence regions for each station

The confdence regions are listed as either a possible three dimensional axis ellipsoid or as a two dimensional ellipse which is then compared to the station classification.

To represent the ellipsoid in space the azimuth of the axis as well as its rotation is listed.

The program will list the ellipses between any two points. The user is asked to select either all the possible combinations or a subset of station pairs. These pairs are selected as

  1. Within a radius
  2. Selected pairs of stations
  3. A list of stations (all pairs)
  4. A combination of the above

For 2 and 3 the files may be entered from a file

The file for 2 is created as a file of two station numbers starting in columns 1 and 10

The file for 3 has only the number in 1

The program reports the number of pairs and requests either to contnue with the analysis, quit or repeat the selection process.

For the analysis, the program proceeds to compute the confidence regions for the selected pairs. The user can now request to list either the station confidence regions, the 3D confidence regions or the 2D confidence regions.

For the 2d analysis, the program will list all the selected pairs or just the ones that differ from the order as input on the coordinate records. Upon completion, the program lists the stations along with the input order and the classification of the worst line connected to it.

the option change the orders and s or to replace the orders in the

  Example.

  SD @ <== Go to user root
  SD .data.sudbury <== Go to data directory
  GHOST                 <== Enter ghost procedure
  CONFEL                <== Execute the procedure
       The user is queried for options
       as described above.

  Batch processing

  For batch processing the user must save the sequence
  of requests in a file which is entered as a parameter
  on the submit command.

  The file might look like this on the sub-directory
       (without comments!!)
  L <== List the station confidence ellipses
  S <== Select the station to station pairs
  R             <== By a radius (KILS)
  25.
  Q <== Compute the confidence regions
  Q             <== Continue with analysis
  2             <== List 2D ellipses
  N <== List the ellipses (y=list only failing
                                                  ellipses)
  Q <== Return to main menu
  Q             <== Exit the program

   or

  The user enters a parameter in the batch procedure

  1. The sub-directory for the files.

        SUBMIT/PARAMETER=(DATA.SUDBURY,par)/NOPRINT GHOST$CMND:CONFEL

                 par is the file containing the options
